MyGPTeam

MyGPTeam is the tinkerer’s pick. You don’t just run a Formula 1-style team; you run its storehouses, labs and merchandise shops as well.

S1Overview

Overview · MyGPTeam

What it is

MyGPTeam calls itself the first completely free browser game in Italy dedicated to Formula 1. It is an unofficial game: the site states it is not associated with the Formula One group of companies. Championships are tiered, from Formula 1 down through lower formulas, and the community journal on the official site carries team posts from the 2026 season.

What you manage

The list on the official game page is unusually wide. You handle your drivers — their skills, behaviour, contracts and training — plus engineers who improve the team’s technology and general staff whose harmony matters. Storehouses hold components that are assembled into the cars you race. Labs develop technology. And there is merchandising: products sold in the team’s own shops, with prices you set for your supporters.

On top of that you keep the budget under control, run your home circuit and draw up contracts with sponsors. If GPRO is a race engineer’s game, MyGPTeam is closer to running a small company that happens to own a racing team.

Strategy and watching the race

Before a grand prix you run tests to find good settings, taking the weather into account, study the circuit, decide how many pit stops to make and give your drivers final instructions.

Qualifying and the race can be followed live or recorded, in three ways: a written commentary with lap times, a 2D viewer with a fixed camera at the finish line, or a 3D viewer that follows the cars around the track.

The market

MyGPTeam has a real trading layer. Sales run through auctions: you can produce tyres or engines in your lab and put them up for sale, pricing them against everyone else’s. At the end of each season you can also chase drivers whose contracts have run out and make them an offer.

How it compares

Most racing managers stop at the factory gate. MyGPTeam walks you through it: building components, storing them, selling the surplus. If you enjoy economy games as much as racing, that is its strongest argument; if you only care about Sunday afternoon, other games on our grid get you there with fewer menus.

How much time it asks

Alongside the championship there are weekly competitions you can set up with friends, which the site says bring no benefit and no expense to your team — they are just for fun — including one-make races where components are supplied free of charge. There is also a weekly time challenge on a set circuit.

Our read: with this many systems, MyGPTeam asks for more attention than most of the grid. A light approach is possible if you ignore the market and the side events at first; the depth is there when you want it.

What’s free and what isn’t, and where to play

Registration is free, and the site puts it simply: “Register and play: it’s free!” We didn’t find a paid tier described on the public pages. Its cookie notice says advertising cookies are used on the site. The game runs in a browser and offers Italian, English, Brazilian Portuguese, German, French and Spanish.
