BATracer
BATracer is the old-school one: a free multiplayer motorsport webgame with a deep shelf of carsets, graphs for days and an interface that has kept its original shape.
Overview · BATracer
What it is
The official site calls BATracer a free racing manager game and multiplayer motorsport simulation. You play as a driver competing for the drivers’ championship and work with a team-mate toward the constructors’ title. Everything is organised into carsets — whole seasons or series you enter — and you can race in several at once.
The list is long and specific: grand-prix seasons inspired by different eras, a GT challenge with grids of up to 48 cars, Classic Trans-Am muscle cars, Formula 3 with a Macau finale, a GP2-style feeder series, German touring cars with success ballast, V8 Supercars, IndyCar and Champcar sets, and an Indy 500 played across several days: 200 laps in five 40-lap stages, with setup and strategy changes between stages.
How a race works
Before each race you set the car up for speed, choose a driving style and a race strategy, with changing weather, safety cars and different car, tyre and engine characteristics to account for. Practice, qualifying and the race then run on the server.
Afterwards you get a full breakdown: commentary, a circuit map showing positions at the finish, a lap-by-lap track replay and graphs comparing teams, drivers and team-mates. If you enjoy finding the lap where the race was lost, this is the most generous game on our grid.
There is a design layer too. An expansion called Constructors adds car design, and you can paint your car and helmet — which matters more to some of us than we would admit.
Commitment · BATracer
How much time it asks
Races come thick and fast across the carsets — the homepage counts down to the next one — but each is a prepare-then-review loop rather than a live session. Our read: pick one carset first. The ability to race in several series at once is the quickest way to turn a hobby into homework.
BATracer Rally
The same site links to BATracer Rally, a separate HTML5 game clearly marked as a beta. It has its own stage editor. The site recommends an up-to-date desktop browser and says the game is optimised for desktops and tablets rather than small phones.
Community
A forum is linked from the homepage, and the front page shows recent player uploads and a rotating “motor of the moment”. It feels like a game kept going by people who know each other’s lap charts — welcoming if you ask questions, a little intimidating if you don’t.
What’s free and what isn’t
The homepage says it plainly: free to play. We didn’t find a paid tier described on the public pages, so we won’t speculate about one.
Where you can play
In a browser, best on a desktop. One practical note: when we checked in October 2026 the site answered on plain http and refused secure https connections, so our link uses http. The public pages we saw were in English only.
