Online racing managers, read from the pit wall
Online racing managers, read from the pit wall
Slipstream Desk reviews motorsport management games you play in a browser — the ones where you never touch a steering wheel and still lose sleep over tyre strategy. Seven titles, each checked on its publisher’s own site in October 2026.
What this desk covers
Racing manager games put you on the pit wall, not in the cockpit. You hire drivers, design or upgrade a car, sign sponsors and suppliers, choose setups and pit strategies — then a simulation decides how far your decisions carry you. Some run the race in real time and let you make calls as it happens; most ask you to prepare and then watch.
We don’t host games here, and we don’t embed them. For each title we read the official site — features, rules, help pages, terms — and write down what holds up: whether it is alive, where it runs, how it makes money, and what it asks of your week. Then we link you to the publisher and get out of the way.
Scrutineering: how a game makes the grid
- Alive right nowA current season, a race countdown or a recent update on the official site when we checked. Closed games don’t start.
- Runs in a browserOr at least has a web version next to its apps. We state the platform plainly on every card.
- Strategy over reflexesYou manage; you don’t steer. Arcade racers with a manager menu don’t qualify.
- Free to startAny paid extras are described in neutral terms, from the publisher’s own pages.
- Honest about timeWe describe the rhythm a game sets — race nights, live sessions, daily check-ins — not a fantasy figure.
- One source of truthEvery fact traces back to the publisher’s site. If we couldn’t confirm it, it isn’t here.
Seven cars on the grid
Numbers are garage numbers, not rankings. Each game fits a different kind of player, and the review tells you which.

Timing screen: side by side
The same seven games, compared on the questions that decide whether you’ll still be playing next season. “Time it asks” is our editorial read of each game’s rhythm, not a measured figure.

Questions we hear on the radio
Do I need to download anything?
Not for any game on our grid. All seven run in a browser. GPRO and iGP Manager also have phone apps, My Racing Career has an Android app, and GPRO is on Steam as well. BATracer and BATracer Rally are best on a desktop.
Are these games free?
All of them are free to start. Some offer optional extras: GPRO has a supporter programme, iGP Manager has optional purchases and a subscription, and My Racing Career sells a premium account and an in-game currency — with the publisher stating they don’t improve driver performance. For Racing Boss, BATracer, MyGPTeam and IMoto we found no paid tier described on the public pages.
How much time does a racing manager take?
Less than you fear and more than you plan. GPRO’s publisher says you can manage with as little as an hour a week. Live games like iGP Manager need you online at race time. Games with many series, like BATracer and My Racing Career, scale with how many you enter. Our time budget guide has a routine that keeps it a hobby.
Which one suits a complete beginner?
If you want to make decisions during the race, try iGP Manager’s sprint races. If you prefer to plan and watch, GPRO has a short tutorial and help on nearly every screen. If you would rather be the driver than the boss, start with My Racing Career. Our choosing guide walks through the questions.
Can I play on my phone?
iGP Manager has iOS and Android apps, GPRO has apps on several stores, and My Racing Career has an Android app. The browser-only games will open on a phone, but BATracer and BATracer Rally are clearly built for larger screens.
Are these official Formula 1 games?
No. They use Formula-style racing, but iGP Manager states it isn’t an officially licensed Formula racing product, and MyGPTeam says it is not associated with the Formula One group of companies. Real championship names are used only to describe what a series resembles.
Do publishers pay you for reviews?
No. Links to official sites are plain links with no tracking or affiliate parameters, and no publisher has seen or approved our text. See how we review.
